Our Story

Hey, it's me the cookie lady. My name's Adinda, and Maxine is my dog. You may wonder why I named my bakery after my canine companion.

I'm not a celebrity chef. I also didn't go to a fancy chef school. I'm a self-taught baker, born from my love for hosting my friends and big (chaotic) family at home. So if there's one thing I know better than most people is how to create a warm environment for people to connect.

For a while I used to be a pro at squeezing deadlines out of people. Then, I realized I was squeezing the life out of myself. Eventually I found refuge in baking. Waiting for bread to rise taught me patience, and serving others (instead of rushing them) did a thing or two at healing my soul.

As orders pour in, Maxine was a loyal company at ungodly hours when the world sleeps. Even after the late nights and occasional floury mishaps, Maxine greets every morning with an enthusiastic invitation to play.

Maxine has somewhat developed a discerning palate too. She will only eat well-fermented sourdough, always refusing the hack jobs. She can smell when the macaron finishes baking and will immediately stand by the oven to collect her macaron tax.

If Maxine was a person, I imagine her to be a fine-looking globe-trotting fashionable food critique lady? At the same time, her loving energy, sociable nature, and quickness to forgive makes her a treasured friend to everyone.

Just like Maxine, our brand aims to spread the same gentleness, affection, and optimism that has made her a steadfast pillar in my life. Maxine personifies the true essence of relentless positive outlook on life – a living embodiment of seizing every day with boundless enthusiasm.

Our story is one of finding solace in a world that never slows down, and building connections that defy the ordinary. At the end of the day, we, the tired overachievers, just need a breather now and then.

I just hope that through our products, you get to carve out more time for yourself and make beautiful memories with the people (and furry companions) you hold dear. After all, friendship, love, and joy are the true essentials of a life well-lived.

With love, Maxine
(and Adinda)
